Terms of Service
Draft — not yet in effect
This text is under review and may change before NIVASA opens to the public.
These Terms govern your use of NIVASA, a hostel and PG management platform operated by [Operator legal name] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using NIVASA you agree to them. If you use NIVASA for a business, you confirm you may accept these Terms for it.
1. The service
NIVASA helps hostel and PG owners and their staff manage rooms and beds, residents, admissions, rent, charges, payments, deposits, expenses and reports.
NIVASA is a record-keeping tool. It does not collect, hold or transfer money, and it is not a payment service. Amounts shown are the records you and your staff enter.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 and give accurate details. You are responsible for your account and everything done with it.
- Keep your password private and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
- One account is for one person. Add staff by invitation; do not share your login.
- The owner of a hostel decides who can access it and with which role (owner, manager or staff), and is responsible for what those people do.
3. Price
NIVASA is free during our launch phase. If paid plans are introduced later, we will announce them in advance and they will not apply to you without your agreement. You may export or stop using your data before any change.
4. Your data and your residents' data
You own the information you put into NIVASA. You allow us to store and process it only to provide the service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
When you add residents, guardians or staff, you are responsible for having a lawful reason and, where required, their consent — in particular for identity documents and photos. Collect only what you need, tell residents why, and keep their records accurate.
We recommend masking all but the last four digits of an Aadhaar number on any copy you upload.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break any law, including laws on tenancy, data protection, tax and record-keeping;
- upload information about people you have no right to hold, or content that is unlawful, harmful or infringes others' rights;
- try to access another hostel's data, test or break our security, or overload the service;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer NIVASA, or use automated means to create accounts or scrape it.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep NIVASA available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". There may be interruptions for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Keep your own copies of important records, such as receipts.
We may improve or change features. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what you can do.
7. Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using NIVASA at any time and ask us to close your account by writing to the support email below.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or puts others at risk. Where reasonable we will warn you first and let you export your data.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, or for decisions made using records entered in NIVASA. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim (which is zero while NIVASA is free). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You will compensate us for claims by others that arise from information you uploaded without the right to do so, or from your breach of these Terms.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will show the new date on this page and, for material changes, tell account holders in advance by email or in the app. Continuing to use NIVASA after a change takes effect means you accept it.
10. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction. Please contact us first — most problems can be solved quickly.
